What are you planning to do with your income tax return this year? I just got my W2 yesterday and I'm already making a list of things to blow it on (I'm very bad with money).
1 -- Fix my amp. I've had a pretty decent sized Fender combo amp (not the best, but it's what I got and it sounds nice) sitting in my room, not working, for months. Every time I play a gig I have to use my guitar player's bass amp NEVER AGAIN!!
2 -- Get a new car. I totaled my beloved Chevy Caprice in July and since then have been driving an old piece of crap Jeep. I've been saving as much as possible, but like I said I suck with money, so this will be a nice boost and I should be able to make a down payment on something legit.
3 -- Beer.....I mean, come on...
4 -- The rest will go toward saving for an apartment.

I really need a new fence. I live on a corner lot, so we are talking over two hundred feet of fence. I also could use a good shed. I definitely outgrew my basement and it would also be nice if I don't have to lug my lawnmower up and down the basement stairs anymore.
I'd like to do my bathroom over.
I really don't need any bass equipment. The only selfish thing I want is a new TV. I have a 42" 1080i ,rear projection, flatscreen and since I went Bluray a couple of moths ago I would like to upgrade to something bigger in 1080P. That idea is on the fence, though. Yuk, yuk! |

I talked to a CPA and we already have a plan to get me debt free by the end of the year, and he said it'd be smartest to apply it to that, BUT, since the plan is sound, and pretty quick really, and has been working for me (I'm actually "ahead" right now, even!) he said I could blow it all and probably not notice.
So, with that in mind...
I'm just waiting on it to be deposited, so I can do two things:
1) Buy a Bongo 6 that's FS right here.
2) Put the rest into savings to top off what I need for my Roscoe Century Std 6
3) Put the remainder, what little there will be, into my savings account for rainy day funds. |

I thought about putting it into an interest bearing savings account but I don't know which banks will still be around and which are doomed to fail.
I'd consider turning it into cash and burying it in a coffee can in the back yard, but I'm not sure that green money is going to be worth too much in a few years.
So I'll probably just spend it on bass gear.

Pilgrims got the best plan in the thread(same thing we do).
Just sayin'...

Bob | No, no.
Only one of those things I listed will get done.
More than likely it will be the fence and shed.
The wood picket fence will be a DIY. Existing poles are steel and cemented in and don't have to be replaced.
Shed? More than likely that will put me over what I'm getting back. |

Probably buy another handgun...
