Future by Design

So I was looking through Netflix the other day and stumbled on a documentary called Future by Design.

Wow, this was really inspiring. Future by Design is a company started by Jacque Fresco that's focus is future planning. It dealt with architecture, transportation, city planning, even social planning.

At first I thought I would be turned off by Jacque, assuming he was pompous and a know it all since hey, he is planning the future. But I thought the exact opposite after watching the documentary. He was a kind and compassionate character, that seems really concerned about humans and our standard of living.

His company started something called the Venus Project in Florida USA.

Basically its a living model of his vision of the future. What is mind blowing is how it all ties together. How he combines all of the categories from home design to city planning to social planning, and how it all is connected.

I hope some of you find the same inspiration by watching this film. What is nice is that he is not trying to sell " Utopia". He admits this will not be a cure all, but he demonstrates and backs his statements with evidence. And shows how his inventions will improve our standard of living for everyone, without a political agenda.

I had to watch this again last night. Still amazed by all of the great ideas this guy has. And he explains everything is normal terms, and how each invention improves the quality of life for everyone.
