I am deeply saddened, yet extremely excited. My cousin tonight has shown me the future.

Ladies and gentlemen....

The Misa Kitara...

Trick Smil3y - Kickass! (live dnb) - YouTube

So much for all the effects pedals we've been trying to buy in the attempt of recreating these sounds.

There are so many other videos you can watch to really get a grasp of what this amazing thing can do.

I imagine this is close to how a professional chef felt way back when after McDonald's started blowing up all over the place.

That's where I'm torn! Of course I'd rather play a REAL bass... but this thing is just so bad ass. It really does look fun as hell though.

I know nothing about gadgets. If this thing is capable of doing other styles as well, could be interesting. Otherwise, it's alright I suppose. I'm not a big techno fan either. Bit of a one trick pony it seems. meh.

You know, I feel like while it could absolutely be used for awesome stuff, the video/demo/song was not quite awesome stuff. Whatever patches he used actually sounded kinda weak.

I watched some of the other videos and you can get tons of other sounds on this thing. The video I posted is just the tip of the iceberg. Like I said, it just looks like tons of fun. A Synth keyboard in a format we're already familiar with.

That's a pretty wicked concept instrument. I think a more9 mature musician could do great things with it. That said, what's this whole dubstep thing? Do these 16 year olds not understand that drum 'n bass has been around for ages? What, extending the portion of the song that's half-tempo makes a new genre?

Oh wait, I guess that's what happened with ska..

This looks like the thing Matt Bellamy from Muse has on a couple of his guitars. But for $1,100. retail I'd could buy Abelton Studio, the best pad/keyboard controller out there and have have enough money left over for several stompboxes.

Real musicians, playing real instruments, in real time - Nerve at Nublu, NYC - YouTube

JoJo Mayer's Nerve with John Davis on bass. He gets all of his sounds out of his pedal board.
