I almost felt bad at a few points, like, the good person in me says I shouldnt kill this mofo, but Im conflicted because this game is supposed to be about killing mofos... | I liked that about it. It made it feel almost "cinematic", if that makes sense.
But I'm all for it being more "fun". But knowing Rockstar, it'll still be a solid story.

I wouldnt mind a storyline that made the player more "involved" with the progression of the storyline, but those "Kill Ivan or Walk Away to Let Him Live" choices were all pretty inconsequential. Give me a better reason than my morality to let the guy live.

Where you have to obey road laws and can attract police attention quite easily, or get into an epic car chase where one wrong move is going to total your car or leave you splattered on the footpath. Also, super over the top graphic violence, I want to feel like I'm playing a Tarantino film, and a lucky shot could see you dead or take your arm out of action. They'red be a balance between fun and realism to be found, but I think it would rock.
No maps or markers, unless your in a car that happens to have a GPS or something. No health indicators, nothing telling you how much ammo is in your gun or even what gun you have out, very little HUD at all.
Add to that a really dark gritty story, noir-esque stylisation and setting, and I think you'd have a winner.
If you play GTA 4, turn off all the HUD and UI and adjust the colour balance so you get a sepia/greyed out drab look to the game, it can be a whole lot of fun to play, I'd just like to play a game designed to be played like that.

REALLY great game and pretty similar to what your talking about. Only problem is it was for PS2...

| | | | I was playing a ton of Dark Souls. My friends bought PS3s during black Friday and we're planning on playing through Demon's Souls a few times now. We haven't really started on that one yet, so I've picked up my neglected copy of Forza 4 in the mean time.
It turns out that despite the two dozen I've owned over the years I'm really really bad at racing games.

Currently playing Spore though. I am making some seriously screwed up creatures.

I was planning on playing through the Mass Effect series and for a month or so happily smashed through the first game, went on vacation for a week, and haven't turned it back on again. That was back in the beginning of September, and I know I'm right near the end, just haven't had the urge for some reason, great game though, just seems to happen to me with rpg's now.

I've been playing it a fair bit and it's pretty sweet. It takes a while to unlock new weapons and attachments and stuff (or alternatively, you can pay for them with real money, hence why they take so long) but it's pretty cool fun.

Hoping on fixing that soon though....
On another note, my copy of Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for 360 just came in the mail, can't wait to get a chance to really dive into that!

It's made by the same company and plays pretty similar (I mean that in a good way). I personally like it a lot online, especially playing the user created tracks. There's some pretty creative people out there!
Also, if you are looking another good Kart game, you should look into Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. I played it at a friend's place and it was a blast!
