Subject: SERIOUS Police warning...Please pass onto all friends family &co workers DON'T FLASH HEADLIGHTS AT ANY CAR WITH NO LIGHTS ON!! Police officers working with the DARE program have issued this Warning: If you are driving after dark and see and on-coming car with noheadlights on,DO NOT FLASH YOUR LIGHTS AT THEM! This is a common Bloods member 'initiation game' that goes like this: The new gang member under initiation drives along with no headlights,and the first car to flash theirheadlights at him is now his 'target'. He is now required to turn aroundand chase that car, then shoot andkill every individual in the vehicle in order to complete his initiationrequirements. Police Depts across thenation are being warned. Their intent is to have all the "new bloods"nationwide drive around on Friday andSaturday nights with their headlights off. In order to be accepted into the gang, they have to shoot and kill allindividuals in the first auto that does acourtesy flash to warn them that their lights are off. Make sure youshare this information with all thedrivers in your family! Please forward this message to all your friends and family members toinform them about this initiation ritual

The fact that is says pass it on to your friends family and coworkers leads me to believe that someone is trying to pass around CPU Herpes. Of course I could be overly paranoid as I know nothing about how CPU viruses work.

I actually still get that email about once every couple of years. Even though I've been seeing it circulating since the early 90's, I still think about it whenever I see car on the street with the lights off. I still flash them-because no headlights is bad news. But I always think to myself..."wouldn't it be crazy if it were true and I just made myself a victim of gang homicide."

There was a movie that went sort of like that with Kevin Bacon on it ...can't remember the name, the gang killed his teenage all-star kid while they walked on a 'gang initiation' and Kevin ended up going crazy when police and prosecutors did nothing to get the guy, he ended up going to war with the gang by himself.

I liked that movie a lot, but to the OP I also think this is another of those urban legends.
