Only the Russians could make such ungainly pig actually fly:

Beautiful aircraft, I wish I had a few extra bucks for one.

After hitting the drive through I'd probably start eating my double cheeseburger on the onramp and after dropping a pickle I'd probably try to grab it (5 second rule) and in the ensuing flub would probably fly it into a building.

Ya gotta give credit to the Russians for building incredible aircraft that are very sexy. Built like a brick s**thouse.

From what I can tell they never live up to their hype.

Damn. There really is nothing I'd wan't more in this world than my own private fighter jet, especially a sukhoi. What they can do in the air is simply unbelievable.

Might want to run that by leading aerobatic pilots in the USA. Sukoi's and Yak's have been at the top for years.

Yeah I know, it always amazes me to watch a SU-26 do it's thing. I have about 50 hours in a 8KCAB and always wondered what it would be like to fly one of the Sukoi's.

Decathlon is a real nice machine. Congrats on the time. I managed to squeak a very small amount time in an old 7GCBC before I was lined up to do a tail wheel check out in an old 135hp PA-18.

A buddy of mine has a sharp 300L. Goggle Image search G-IIMI.

Cheers and happy days flying.

RWP...my medical expired ten years ago and I've never renewed it. Renting a 172 over here costs close to $300 an hour.

Despite the UK registration on the Extra, it's based over here. I still haven't gone up with him. I ran into him on the street between Christmas and New Years. Too much snow on the grass strip where it's based, so he hasn't flown in a few months. There's a Sukoi 29 in his hangar as well.

I take it you're current?

ps...haven't hijacked a thread in years. This feels great.

This isn't a hijack, it's AIRPLANE TALK!!

I wish I could tell you I was current but I am not, it's been about 10 years ago for me also. Ah the good old days before kids.... After 911 it got so weird I am not sure I would want to go through the trouble. So I fly a bunch of RC and that keeps me interested.
$300 an hour is CRAZY, I can see why you would take a pass on that.
