Straight-ahead kicker, hi-top shoes, leather helmet, then no-bar plastic helmet, then one-bar only. No teeth, broken nose, scars all over his face, skin like leather. He looked like a football player! Tough as nails, they don't make them like him anymore!
RIP George Blanda.

RIP George Blanda. | That pretty much says it all. Mr. Blanda was a badass. RIP.

Blanda, Butkus, and OJ were my favorite players when I was a little kid, and it's amazing all the old football memories that are coming back to me today.

Also a side note - Every time an old athlete dies some old teammate or coach always comes out and comments on how great he was because "he always wanted to win at everything he did". However if you play touch football with "that" guy, he's an @$$hole. Kinda like in Wedding Crashers "Crab cakes and football, that's what Maryland does!".
Just sayin' |

BTW, I have a 3rd or 4th year football card in mint for him. Very cool. Its been packed for years---gotta dig it out.
RIP, pal.
