| Well, I was a Ramblin' Wreck for a short while. I went there my freshman year, 1970, lived in Techwood. I was a chemistry major and liked the school, however I got shot at down in south Georgia which changed my notion of how comfortable I could be down South back then. A friend and I were on our way down to Florida between quarters, driving on the backroads to get some local color. The car overheated and while we were waiting for the car to cool down I began to wander around an old graveyard looking at the tombstones. When I heard the whizzing of bullets zinging past me, right, left, right...I dropped to the ground and crawled back to the car. No sense in a couple of "long-haired hippes" going to the police back then. Got back in the car which had cooled off enough and drove away. I never did see who was doing the shooting.
Left the South to head back up north. Eventually finished my undergraduate and graduate training in biochemistry at Rutgers.
I know that my story is not typical!!!
Good luck connecting with true alums.
Cheers,
