Getting married in a cowboy hat.

Sign in to disble this ad
I never knew California had so many "Cowboys".

After seeing all of this coverage for the new laws in place I have seen nothing but cowboys hats.

Anyone else make this observation?

It's the Brokeback Mountain influence. That or the Village People.

Good to know the band is attired correctly.

Chuck always was a snappy (un)dresser...

I would be right there with them in cowboy hat if anyone would dare marry me.

this might be a bit long...

so the last band I was in, Gunpowder, used to wear cowboy gettup. It was Cow-Punk. This is before Brokeback Mountain came out, so that wasn't the reason why. Before I joined them, I used to go see them as they were friends of mine, and my old drummer had joined the band at one point. Then they asked me to be their lead guitarist, and I was like, well, I've never done that before, why not. After I joined, the guys wanted to ditch the whole "cowboy" thing anyway (THANK YOU!).

So one day, the singer told us why they started it. He said it was because he showed up at a show once and was wearing the get up, and somehow people liked it, so it stuck. Turned out it was because he was chasing some latino cowboy, at a cowboy bar.

There are a lot of country music fans in Cali - more than you might think. Somehow, that makes them think they're cowboys.

When I was a kid I actually worked as a real cowboy on my cousins ranch in the summers. The darnedest thing? We didn't wear cowboy hats while doing actual cowboy work. We wore ballcaps.

Now when I got old (21) and my hair rapidly started leaving my vicinity, THEN I got cowboy hats.

So the real answer? Male pattern baldness.

actually a cowboys hat is a tool,, just like gloves,, boots,, chaps.

they wore them so they didn't bake their brain out here in the sun, ( was 105 here today )

i've got one i wear alot when i'm out workin' in the sun all day

it ain't a fashion statement,, it just keeps me from cookin' my gourd

I've always thought a cowboy hat, on ANYONE but a cowboy who is out working at the time, is one of the douchiest looking things one can do.
