+50

you'll get it eventually though, the key for that song is to hold out as long as possible then use all the star power you have, I went back to play that song a couple of days ago and still had trouble with it though... One is easier for me now

haha it's an old school trick. Whenever you have a tough part to play, try to max star power before the hard part, then don't use it until the very last second when you're about to fail (but make sure you don't wait too long, or you actually will fail! )

OMG!!! I finally beat that song yesterday!!!! hahaha, now I just need to work on the Devil Went Down to Georgia... I was getting close, but not quite there...

only the crazy part in Raining Blood (I think its called mosh 1?) is really bad IMO, the rest of it is somewhat easy... other than the solo thing, but its still not as bad as that other part... but it is SOooOOoOOoOoOoOoOOOo hard to get that down...

Ive cleared the game on expert, so Ill help you out with any song youve got problems with.

The key to Cult of Personality, is to keep up with the solo, using hammer ons. So many people that play guitar hero never use hammer ons and pull offs, and try to strum everything. This gets you through GH, GH2, and most of the 80's game, but GH3 requires it. So go into practive mode, and play My Name is Johnas untill you can do the hammer ons and pull offs in that song perfectly. you should be able to get 98% or better everytime on this song. When you cna do that then return to Cult of Personality, and it will be much easier. You can also use hammers and pulls on the main riff of the song.

Hope that makes it easier for ya.

I remeber not too long ago when video games were made to be fun, not to be argued and whined over.

trick for when the Devil hits you with left flip: Flip your head upside down, and play it as normally would.

i had a tough time with that one too ... spent a few hours here and there practicing it then i finally got it. I don't like mosh songs very much .. I don't care much for that entire Japan set because of that ...

If you look at the notes carefully, normal notes will have a black circle in the center of them.

Notes that you can do hammerons and pulloffs won't have that circle and it will just be white in the center.

For the most part, you can kind of tell because the notes are so close and you can just naturally feel a hammeron there, but don't always go by sound because you'll get fooled sometimes.

You will know what I am talking about with the appearance or non-appearance of that black ring once you look for it in a song.

You'd be surprised how many people don't know that, even people who have been playing since GH I. No one bothers to look at the tutorials haha.

Yes sir there is:

When your playing the game you will notice that some notes have regular tops, and others have a bright flashy top.

In this screen shot, the order of the frets to come is: R, R, G, Y, R, Y, B.

Look at the second R to come, and youll see that it has a dark ring on top, this note must be strummed, BUT the section that follows: G,Y,R,Y,B has no such black ring, so they can be hammered on. To Play this section you would Strum the Dark R note, then press GYRYB without strumming, and youll hit them all. On GH1 this system works but it is very very precise on the timing. GH2 and 80's have more leeway, but its hard to tell which notes can be hammered and which cant. In GH3 the H/o P/o system is at its best yet, and extremely reliable. The notes are easy to see when you know what your looking at. And the timeing is fairly forgiving. SO a little practice and youll have it bro.

yeah they are more obvious on GH III than the previous versions too, they practically glow now!

and !!!!!!!!!!!!! I beat the game on expert today!!! muahahaha lol, now I need to get to work on through the fire and flames I almost made it through the intro today! hahaa

P.S. Judging from your picture, I saw someone that I think looked like you at the best buy in Spring Meadows outside of Toledo a few days ago... I was playing rock band and this person who was playing guitar hero next to me asked me something about the game... was this person you? lol

I just looked up where waterford is, I thought it was closer to toledo, but I guess not... so the answer is probably no, lol I figured you might be in Toledo for the GC thats next to it and stopped there, but there is most likely a GC in Detroit...
