US GI in SKorea gets 10 years in prison for rape - World news - Asia-Pacific - msnbc.com
I cannot help but think that he is lucky he committed this crime in Korea. He would have gotten at least twice as many years in the USA. In many states, he would have gotten life in prison.

I suspect that incidents like this will just hasten the day when Korea totally takes responsibility for its own defense.

I think it will hasten the removal of the US physical presence while still leaving the US completely responsible monetarily for the defense of Korea. In perpetuity.

Flippin committed many "sadistic and sexually perverted acts" while threatening the girl with a pair of scissors, a knife and a lighter, Lee said. The soldier robbed the girl of 5,000 won ($4.50) as well, he said.
I think this is just the act of a complete a-hole who got himself off by harming someone else.
