A Gibson version of the VG Strat, but with a limited run of 1,000 guitars, guaranteed to be cost-prohibitive!

The tuners are definitely better than the first gen robot tuners, looks like a lot less bulk on the headstock. I like this better than the VG strat which changes tuning through software instead of physically adjusting them. Still weird. And I'm not a fan of the metal bits. Are those really necessary?

I think it found a number of problems, even before it made it to the sales floor.

Gibson's so detached from their customer base, it's almost impressive. Lower the ridiculous prices? No. Improve the seemingly non-existent Quality Control? No. Cram unneeded electronics into an ugly husk of a guitar, and charge thousands for it? Damn right.

Better yet, make it so even the most retrofitted part (pickups) are non-changeable. They're not a standard size/shape. God forbid that someone who buys one decides like 75% of the buying public to try aftermarket pickups.

Simple controls? Sure! How about two quad band parametric EQs on board! Sounds like that would be easy to handle in a gigging situation!

Retrofit pickup rings or pickguard? NO PROBLEM!

it's got some cool things built in, however the price point doesn't make sense to me. Who does Gibson expect to buy these? I think Gibson will find more success if they can get that technology into a guitar at a price point that more musicians can afford
