| This line gave me a bad feeling as soon as I read the "yes believe it". If a contest said there was a $10,000 prize, I would believe them, why wouldn't I? Why be so defensive about it? It sounds like there where problems with the prize in the past. |

Maybe because he doesn't actually play any instrument they make has a lot to do with their reluctance to give the prize out. Companies don't sponsor stuff because they are kind folk. They do it because they get advertising. If this guy isn't seen to use their instrument then they don't get the advertising. That doesn't mean they are right or anything.
In any case he could just send them a solicitors letter and it might jog them into action. They probably have some legal obligation to fork out the prize.

They probably have some legal obligation to fork out the prize. | i think it's irrelevant what the prize winner does with the prize. it looks good on gibson to give away stuff for free and that's what they are after. cheecky tactic to advertise this free prize and then not hand it out. some accountant probably got promoted for saving his department 10000 bucks
