Try and bring in kids that look like they keep up with the times and play watered down <insert rap, rock, country, whatever> with themes that don't even always have a decent or consistent message. There's far more important issues worth dealing with than friggin hugs. 
There's plenty of Christian groups (or groups with Christians) that aren't lame: Zao As I Lay Dying Flobots Ace Troubleshooter (RIP.) Maylene & The Sons of Disaster

? | I'm not a big fan of TDWP, but have you listened to Underoath in the last couple of years? Their newest album, Lost in the Sound of Separation, is freaking great. It's massive sounding, and the bass tones are incredible.
Anyway, back to the original post, the song is "inspired" by a blog called "Stuff Chrisians Like." They had a blog on DVS (deep v-neck syndrome  ) that hit home for me.

The group doing the rap was a comedy troupe, not an actual rap act. The "side hug" is just a thing that a lot of Christians do without thinking about it so as not to appear too "intimate" with a person of the opposite sex. It's not something that is actually promoted as far as I know. |
