First movie I've seen in the movie theater in about 4 years.
It was awesome. Also, Rooney Mara is a hottie.
That is all.

I saw it last night. Awesome movie, kinda long on plot but interesting and engaging nonetheless, with a couple of nice twists at the end. Mara was outstanding, in a DeNiro/Hillary Swank method actor total immersion way. I smell Oscar.

Are they planning on continuing the trilogy?

Not seen it yet.

I just wonder if a film that came out only 2 years ago was really needing remade already.

It seems to be doing pretty well at the box office, I have no reason to doubt they'd be continuing and do the entire trilogy.

According to most crtics on rottentomatoes.com, the re-make is an improvement.

Bigger budget film with known hollywood actors, one would hope it to be a better film.

As said, I'm yet to see it (critics aren't worth a whole lot IMO). I just don't like seeing things being re-released as such.

At least this one is in English, right?
I believe the first was in Swedish.

I saw it. Thought it was OK. Wasn't blown away. Great soft core porn though. Could make it worth seeing for some.

$100 million budget.

$19 million made the first week.

I love the millennium collection. Wonder if they'll do the next two?

It was written by a Swedish author, so that part seems more than just.

Some great non-English films out there!

The 3 Swedish movies were great. The American remake is horrible.

Saw it a few weeks ago, thought it was awesome with the twisty plot, Rooney Mara, and the fact that for once Daniel Craig didn't play Daniel Craig in the movie

Peace,
Greg

The English remake is well done and we enjoyed it.
But the books and the Swedish versions are better.
Noomi Rapace is much hotter IMO.

I saw the US version last week and re-watched the Swedish version last night. Very much surprised to realize the US version was darker, more complex, more engaging, and my favorite of the two. Btw, the Swedish trilogy's dialogue is in Swedish and the only versions I've seen over here feature English subtitles or a painful English overdub (serious Godzilla lip-synch going on!) that hurts to watch.

I've never seen the audience reaction I witnessed last week when the movie ended. As the credits began, everyone in the theater stood and filed silently out. Not a peep or a cough or anything. That was some dark stuff.

Saw it Friday night. Read all three books. I think that if you hadn't read at least the 1st book, some of the computer screen reveals may have gone by too fast to really get their relevance.

Will be seeking out the Swedish version of all three books / movies.

Saw it. I greatly enjoyed it, best movie I've seen in a while. I really can't think of anything that could be improved upon.

Yes, "great".

Especially the part where she arises like a freaking ZOMBIE from the grave!

The originals are silly nonsense and overblown. The remakes are probably worse.

Whatever.

And it was brilliant. I'm boycotting the remake.

I'd watch the first films, but I'd rather get a root canal before watching a film with subtitles.

I haven't seen the new film yet, but I'm listening to the soundtrack right now. Reznor is genius!
