So,I had a meeting yesterday with this software developing company. I'll be starting my internship soon and maybe continue working there.
They wanted me to find a few ideas for cell phone applications and they'll choose one for me to write it.
I'll have 4 weeks to finish the project. If I don't find a project good enough they won't be accepting my internship.
I need ideas for useful cellphone apps that I can write with Java. No games though, they made it clear.
Come on TBOT,you people always come up with good ideas when I need them.

J/K
I don't know, any industries you'e shooting for?
What audience are we marketing this towards?
Simply put anything that has a continued use to keep track of data would do great. Record some data upload it to a server and display it on a webpage, that type of app seems to be taking off.

Could do a different style forum reader.
If its going to be for Android or blackberry check the carrier and maker sites for api that may give an idea. |

From what I understood,it's not an easy task. I don't think I could cope it off in 4 weeks. But that's a very cool idea,I'm sure it would sell on the market too. Quote:

So sick of having to dodge teenage girls who think they have so much experience driving that they can text behind the wheel. Don't know if thats even possible, but it would certainly make the world a better place. |

I think it's possible.
But people who on the same MPH (same car) who is not driving will not be able to texting too. They'll complain. Also people in the bus/train...
Hmm..

Hmm.. | Make it so that the parents can activate it easily from a computer or their cell phone. If the teen is taking the car, drag the magic slide and they can't text when moving over a certain speed (I suggest a little over average walking speed, texting on a bike is a terrible idea too)

Just keeping a kid from deleting it would be the main challenge
