I'm stressed out and frustrated by school, my douchey friends, me (most of all), and the lack of time i have to do anything. I love bass and music, art and drawing and graphic design, and martial arts, and would love to make one of those into a career but i'm not at all good enough at any of them to make it into one.
advice? i'm 15 and a sophmore in highschool so sorry for my angsty rant

Just enjoy life and take it one day at a time man, your only 15 you've got the rest of your life ahead of you. Keep on enjoying the things you do, and it's a good idea to think of what your going to do for a career but your going to change your mind many times before you decide what it is that you truly want to do.

Hi toshiro94.

The feelings which you are presently experiencing are normal - especially during one's teen years - and will pass in time.

Please try to take the long view of things by channeling your frustrations into new pursuits which will enrich the skill-set you'll need to succeed in what you'd like to do with your life.

A suggestion:

Do some research and write yourself an essay on the theme of: 'Where I'd like my life to be five years from now, and what I believe I must do to make my ambitions a reality'.

Doing so would supply you with a self-researched & authored script for the next half decade of your future while giving you the real feeling of having moved forward out of the rut that you seem to be in.

The therapeutic value of exploring & expressing (and thus unraveling) one's feelings by writing them out so they can be seen, better understood, and acted upon in a constructive manner can be truly uplifting.

Creative souls have been processing their angst into future success for eons.

Here's some examples:

Simple Plan-- I'm just a kid lyrics

Simple Plan Welcome To My Life with Lyrics

Take My Hand - Simple Plan (Lyrics)

Tired of being in a rut? Then get out and push.

You can still enjoy music, but if you drop out of school to try and play full time, my guess is you'll regret it for the rest of your life.

Gotta say, great advice.

Good on ya Gazza . Really is the best thing to do when you're feeling worthless or you're really unclear of your future. The more detailed, the better. It really gives you a feeling of self worth, and that you are actively doing something to give your future a kick in the right direction.

And, being 16 myself, I know how you feel. Don't dismiss your future, but never take yourself too seriously either. DO the spur of the moment things as well as the planned things. TAKE chances. APPRECIATE the small things. Most of all, be you, in all your uniqueness. You WILL feel better, trust me

And to quote the Indigo Girls: "Every five years or so I look back on my life and I have a good laugh."

Not to be condescending, but as time passes and you get older, you realize that problems that seem overwhelming when you're young eventually shrink down to manageable proportions -- or you grow in proportion to them -- if they don't fade away entirely. Keep moving forward, do good work, enjoy what's there to enjoy. You'll come out fine.
