I say we need less smilies. They lead to a certain laziness. I mean, c'mon, are we that lethargic that we have to use pictograms/hieroglyphs to represent what we are saying? Additionally, I like the idea of not cluing anyone in as to whether or not I'm serious, joking, stunned or actually hiding behind a physical brick wall while rambling on about quasi-philosophical nonsense. Yes, I've used them before, but much like my nicotine addiction, I'm trying to quit.
