Hey guys (and the occasional Chica)... Yesterday I set up my Gmail account on my BlackBerry. It works fine except for one annoyance that I can't figure out: When I reply to an e-mail, the reply goes through, but it also gets sent back to me. Why is this? It's annoying!
Thanks in advance!

I have mine set for this because when I respond to a business related question I want a copy sent to my desk top computer for back up. Then the desk top pushes the reply back to the Blackberry.

The BlackBerrys are designed to access and download e-mails. It's far from a "half arsed application". It's one of their main selling points. You are suggesting I access the net, go to gmail, and do it manually? That's just silly, imo.

I checked the e-mail settings and I'm not sure where this is hidden.
Thanks in advance!

It's like a toilet for a toilet, goddamnit.

Just because you like it better, doesn't mean it IS better. OK?

It's like a toilet for a toilet, goddamnit. | you sure have a lot of instant messaging clients.
icq... aim... msn... skype...
do you like having four separate programs open?
wouldn't it be easier to just have one that could utilize all four?

Thanks in advance! | If setting up a Blackberry device is the same in the U.S. as it is in Canada then you should have an online Blackberry account. That is where I changed the settings and had my replies sent to my Outlook express account. IIRC you can choose which accounts you want linked to a feature such as this.

That's why I'm saying it's got to be an issue with Gmail, and not the BB. I can't find what's messed up though.

It shouldn't be the gmail account just as for me it is not my Outlook account. When things get too weird I just go back to my service provider and get them to figure it out. Sorry.

This argument is dumb, nobody's going to win because nothing is going to change my mind. It's an opinion. Opinions are always right.

Sorry. | Yeah, it's actually sending me the mail, as evidenced by the little letter icon, as opposed to the check mark "sent" icon.

Opinions are always right. | You started the "argument" by contributing ZERO to this thread other than "do it a different way". You essentially offered nothing of any value whatsoever. You're one of those guys that responds to people's computer problems with "Get a Mac", aren't you???

I have 3 main ones that I use daily.
1.) Work: on my office servers... when out of the office I need to VPN in to use my outlook or use the webmail interface.
2.) Spam trap: a yahoo account I've had since the late 90s that anything I don't trust or 'requires' email that I don't want to have my email.
3.) the rest: all of my domain mail (about 7 different domains currently) all forward to a gmail account. I can check it anywhere I have web access with ease... all sent and saved mail at my fingertips.
I would love to have a crackberry for my personal email... but not enough to buy one yet since I refuse to own a cell phone. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
