Well, on Tuesday I managed to slice my little finger open at work rather badly. So, in accordance to the proper ettiquette I thought I'd take some pictures of it and post them on teh interwebz.

4 stitches, and most of my finger is still pretty numb; I hope the feeling returns eventually!

I fully expect Capnjim to come along at some point and say 'that's nothing!' and post his hand again.

Good job!

The feeling will come back gradually, over a long time. I slashed myself in the same place a few years ago.

Gigging this weekend?

That kind of crap scares the hell out of me! No time for hand injuries.

That's a sloppy stitch job. Did you do it yourself?

Thanks for all the kind replies! part of me hopes that I don't get the feeling back; it'd be quite a party trick to be able to hook spaghetti out of boiling water with my pinky.

It was the NHS's finest stitching; I'll let you read what you like from that...as for the cause, I cut it on a piece of metal at work while restocking a vertical carousel.

Luckily, there's not much playing on the horizon for me; it still sucks only being able to use three fingers though!

That's a good one. Next time save yourself the medical bill and invest in some super glue.

Cut myself about an hour ago here at work. Took off half my nail and some meat on my ring finger on my fret hand. Rehearsal will not be fun tonight.

Ouch, that'll do it! It will probably be fine as long as you didn't get down to the ligaments and tendons. I did have stitches at that same finger joint in the left hand index, middle and ring fingers many years back, they were o.k. no loss of sensation. I overbalanced and slid down an embankment but tried to put the brakes on by grabbing the edge of a corrugated steel shed

Try not to put too much pressure on it and take it easy.
