Going to Hawaii!!!!---what to do?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everyone, my paps has a business trip in hawaii the week after next, so my mom, sister, and I are going as well. We'll be on the main island for 5 days and will have a rental car, so getting places won't be a problem. So guys, what are some things that I deffinitely have got to do while I'm there?

edit: not "main island", I meant "big island"

Thanks for the quick replies guys.

And don't worry, a Hawaiian chick is deffinitely on my to do list. It'll be hard on this trip though, seeing as how I'll be with with my sister and mom (dad'll be at meetings all day) the whole stay.

Anyways, I was thinking more in the sense of places and sights I should see and go to. I think we'll be checking out Waipio valley, my mom wants to swim with some dolphins (something our hotel apparently offers), my sister wants to surf, and I think we'll also be checking out a national park (I think the one with the massive volcano, whichever that is).

But actually now that I think about it, I'm still open to any and all suggestions. So keep 'em coming guys. I appreciate it.

The main island is Oahu. Thats where the attractions I listed are located.

Waipio Valley, the hotel with the Dolphins and the volcano (Kilauea) is on the "Big Island" called Hawaii (where I live).

You definitely need to see Kilauea if you're going to be on the Big Island - not a chance you want to miss out on.

Well, my dad's a self employed lawyer who specializes in trademark and licensing agreement type stuff. His largest client is WiMAX, and they have large business meetings every year- at least one in Europe, Asia, and North America. So yeah, he'll be there in WiMAX meetings the whole time.

Kilauea, as in the volcano? Ok, sick, I'll check that out.

Music was mentioned earlier. Is that suggesting to go see a show or a concert?

Kileuwaha (spelling) volcano park.
Parker Ranch
North Shore of Big Island has some good surf spots and interesting beaches
North of Kona just north Waikoloa is a cool sandy beach (a rare thing on the big island)

The big island is my favorite island. Rural. Uncrowded. The water is super clear. Go snorkeling there. Best snorkelling in hawaii. There's good surf too. In the winter Waikaloa area breaks as well as the North shore. In Kona Banyan's and Hano's are great waves. When it get really big Lymons Lefts breaks too.

Make sure you have a shave ice everyday. Not a lot to do as far as nightlife goes on the big island. Not a lot of chicks like oahu either. But a great place. I got married there.
