"Golfing" Help

Sign in to disble this ad
So a friend of mine has always wanted to golf off of the roof of a building, just like in the movies. Which ones, I don't know, but thats what I was told. As you can guess, I'm trying to make it happen. However, there are some complications.

Now unfortunately I live in a big city and the closest I've ever come to golfing is putting into a coffee cup. Rooftop golf courses are hard to come by, and the roofs that I've access too generally are near other buildings. I don't want to spend my afternoon breaking people's windows.

My solution is to take about 6 milk crates and line them up in a rectangle, and then use zip ties to hold them together if need be. Cue some cardboard (probably cut up pizza boxes) sides drawn up to be the top of a building, and voila, instant building. I can now stick this pretty much anywhere I want. This seems to me like the easy part.

Now the milk crates have a lattice bottom, which seems really hard to golf off of. My experience with golf is knocking a ball across asphalt, rugs, etc. So now lies the problem of making a semi flat surface to shoot the balls off of. Should I put a tee on there? How would I secure it? Other suggestions?

I wanna do this as soon as possible before they move on Friday and I'll most likely never see them again. Seems like a good send off to me.

This sounds like a very well thought out dumb idea. Good luck.

Drill a hole through a golf ball, run a fishing line through, tie the line to a brick or something stable. This way you don't need many balls and you limit how far the ball can travel.

Also, if you don't know how to golf, don't worry about breaking windows, you're not going to be able to get it off the rooftop.
