Interesting story, yet sad and scary at the same time. I'm tempted to say that these athletes suffered and died for our entertainment, knowing full well that they did this voluntarily and were well compensated for their efforts. Hopefully they didn't die in vain, that the research being done on brain injury will lead to progress in keeping athletes safer while playing their sport.

Now former players are fixing to sue the NFL for covering up the issue: Seventy-five ex-players sue NFL over concussions, report says - ESPN. I think they have a case.

I play a contact sport and know there are risks involved. But like many people who drink or smoke, I do it because I enjoy it and accept the risks that go along with it.

Pro-athletes, will (or at least should if they have half a brain) also be aware of the risks and aware that they are being paid to take these risks.

It is pretty crazy the amount of damage shown there.
