I spent a lot of time in Japan, and I admire their "forward thinking" (they really do think decades ahead instead of years), and I love the people, but I don't like the "corporate slave" mentality they have. Sure, they're very well paid, but they work severe hours. Stuff that, life's too short. |

I used to avoid them like the plague. Now theyre not so bad, better than most of the big commercial pizza chains.

There's a local chain near by where each store is named after its location "Baldwin Park Pizza Co" "Hacienda Heights Pizza Co" etc. that makes some of the best pizza around, though its a bit pricey so I dont buy it too often.
Then theres the "3.99 Pizza Co." with two locations near my house that makes some pretty good cheap pizza.
I grew up eating Little Ceasars, so they'll always have a spot in my heart, even if I rarely buy from them.
Dominos was a life saver when I lived in Hacienda Heights, as there were many drunken nights when I got hungry and didnt want to cook and could order 2 medium 2 topping pizzas for $12 and have them delivered in about 20 minutes.

Side story: the guitarist from Black Lips was playing aconcert with a hat on. Toward the end of the show he took it off & revealed taht he shaved his head to a culdesac on purpose--the rest of his hair was med length. So funny. |

It's the standard businessman/anchorman style. I get a much better and faster cut when I pay $15 than I do when I pay $60.
Regarding food, I think those who who've traveled around know that some of the best food is good, cheap, and fast: street tacos in Mexico, churrasco in Brazil, falafels in Lebanon, etc...

I cannot stand the joints with $7. cup of coffee. Old film cameras are as good as they ever was & getting cheaper on the evilbay. No one's mentioned Costco/Price Club yet. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
