Good PC games for under $25?

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok, so I know nothing about pc games at the moment. I have always been a platform gamer and hated pc games, mostly because i've always had a crap computer. But now that I have a laptop with 4 gigs of ram, and since I sold all my consoles, I'm lookin to get me some good games for the puter. Anybody have some good suggestions for some good games on the lower end of the price scale? (I don't even know the standard price of a new game )

best game ever. ive had a love affair with it since probably 2001. its free.

diablo2 is also sweet.. but i dont remember what it costs.. + the expantion pack, probably more than $25. but beware, these online computer games can be a legitimate addiction to some people.

What kind of games did you like to play on consoles? You can usually get anything that is at least a year old for $25 or less, depending on the genre.

If you have a high speed internet connection, I highly recommend downloading the Steam software. They have a ton of games in that price range, not to mention having package deals.

They also have good deals going until January 3rd.

A lot of the older Age of Empires games are now selling in Wal-Mart's $10 section. I especially recommend Age of Kings: The Conquerors Expansion.

not on my laptop. We don't have wireless, so I have to go to my desktop and plug my laptop into the router, which a pain. So a game with a good story without needing internet is what i'm looking for.

And i'm a guy, so any sort of actiony, awesome game will do.

So you have access to internet, but would prefer to play a single-player game? Or would rather not hassle with having to connect your laptop?

Torchlight is my current adiction. www.torchlightgame.com/

You could also probably pick up a copy of Civilization II for next to nothing. IMO that is one of the greatest games ever made. The more recent versions of Civ. are also awesome but get too involved for me (I've got a day job and two kids so I just don't have that kind of time).

I would rather have a single player game, because to play online I would have to:

Take my laptop into the living room, and unplug the cable from the desktop into my laptop, and set my laptop onto the table right next to the computer, which looks completely ridiculous and if anybody else wants to use the computer, i'm screwed. I'd rather have a game that didn't require online so I can just play in my room or wherever, whenever I want.

Ok, what games did you play when you had your Xbox? Multiplayer ones? If not then look for the PC version. (if there is one)

I totally forgot that pretty much all xbox games have a pc version
(but in my defense, I didn't have an xbox in the first place )

Oh, must have misread part of the 1st post. I swear I saw Xbox. Anyways most FPS you will find will be designed for Online play. I have yet to see a pure FPS I can remember that wasn't designed for Multi-player.
