I just want to take time to acknowledge and applaud the judiciousness of the TB mods. They allowed the OBL threads to remain active up to the point were someone became disrespectful of a fellow TB'er or otherwise violated a forum rule.
I was enjoying my participation in one of the threads until a fellow TB'er decided to engage in a disrespectful ad hominem argument towards me, rather than keep the discussion on the subject at hand. Within a matter of minutes, a mod rightfully closed the thread. Well done, and I applaud the mod's judgement.

You aren't going to change the moral or personal stance of anyone on an internet forum.
The glory of the internet is that it's easier to hit the back button rather than try to pound a point.
Unfortunately that doesn't always happen. |

Previously, CD made a comment in another thread that was directly insulting to several if my immediate family members that previously served as pilots in the military. He deleted the comment, which I commend him for, but the damage was done in my mind. With that in mind, combined with some other comments made in the most recent thread, I made a snarky comment that I should have let slide instead.
I apoligize for my actions and regret that I may have caused any administrative headaches for the moderators.

I like it here. Surely I will still bump heads with some, but never with any genuine malice or anything...we cannot always all agree.

That said, a member of a forum has to accept that Mods get to chose what is allowed. Nobody makes me post here.

If one particular poster in that thread had shown some restraint or had his wrist slapped (and it's long over due) that thread could still be going.
