Just heard that Paul Harvey passed away, age 90.
I used to love listening to "The Rest Of The Story", and trying to figure out who he was talking about before he got to the end. Master storyteller, and a unique American treasure on the radio.
Lately, his voice has sounded strained and weak, I knew he wouldn't be long of this world, but his passing marks the end of an era in radio.
Thanks for all the great times, and little life lessons you imparted on so many of us. God bless you, Paul, and may you rest in peace. |

His wife just died a few months ago. She was big in broadcasting too. WOW they do go together. |

His son does an admirable job, even sounds a lot like a young Paul Sr...even if you aren't a talk radio fan, it's hard to deny the influence Paul Harvey had on generations of listeners. Truly a giant! This is a big loss for the radio community. |

I am one of the holdouts that believes radio is among the only media left with any real integrity, and he was a big part of that. He will be missed by us backwards radio fans.

The first time I delivered to his home/office, I couldn't resist. As I was leaving I turned to him and said, "Goood Day!" Paul broke out in a grin and gave me a "Goood Day!" in return. What a treat.
Not only a great radio icon, but a very nice person also.
Thanks for the memories.

He broadcast with class, with moderation in his comments, with intelligence, and always with consideration for others. That's all too rare these days, especially in politically-oriented talk radio.
