Thought this was pretty cool from Google, and on top of that, I feel less guilty surfing the net at work:

http://www.google.com/chrome/intl/en/p/cause/#tnc

Quote:
Every tab you open this December 15 through 19 will serve a good cause.

Join the cause
Install the Chrome for a Cause extension to participate. Each tab you open will raise money for charity.

Contribute your tabs
At the end of each day, choose one of five charities to support.
I've downloaded the plugin an hour ago and so far have raised 2.5 vaccins, 6.3 books, 0.3 person's clean water provided, 0.6 square feet of shelter built, and 6.3 trees planted!

I've raised 1.1 vaccines, 2.7 books, 0.1 people's clean water, 0.3 square feet of shelter or 2.7 trees planted since I read this. I surf fast, so I'm happy to help out

Hmm, this sounds akin to purchasing carbon offfsets. Of course you can fix the world with money!

Anyone who tells you that you can help save the world by browsing the internet is lying to you with the intention of getting you to browse the internet more.

Same here. I use Chrome at work, and during this time of the year, there's a lot of down time where I'm doing epic amounts of net surfing. Lots of tab openings here.
