Google Chrome is really p-ing me off!

It seems like every time I try to go to a new page at a web site, it takes forever to load, and oftentimes it times out. It worked fine when I first got it, but now it's really pissing me off. Anyone else have this problem? And if so, what's the solution?

Have you tried Chrome's incognito window?

I'm running Windows XP SP2. I read the article and I'll give it a shot.

Trying Clearing the Browsing Data (cookies and cache). Tool icon -> Preferences -> Under the Hood -> Clear Browsing Data. Make sure to uncheck what you don't want to lose. That should work.

On the other hand, Google Chrome pisses me off because for some reason, when I'm on Facebook and click on a URL (like a picture, or a profile, or whatever) sometimes it decides to go "Back" for several pages. It's quite annoying.

Out of curiousity, how would going Incognito help? I guess it wouldn't your data, but in the end it's annoying?

I just started running it on Vista last week, after my not-quite-voluntary update of Firefox to 4.0 proved to be disastrously buggy. I've had no issues with it whatsoever; in fact it's damn fast. I do wish you could set it to default to Incognito, as you can with Firefox...

Not to hijack this thread, but Firefox 4 came out recently, and though I am missing some of my add-ons that aren't compatible yet, I am very pleased with it so far.

I've had zero issues, and they finally fixed the load-up time of the browser. They also changed the UI a little bit, but it's very customizable.

Consider doing an A/B and seeing what you like.

+1 on Firefox 4. It's as fast as Chromium (what Google Chrome is derived from) under Ubuntu 10.10.

One can expect some of the plethora of Ff add-ons to not be compatible Firefox 4 at first but all of the more common security-related ones currently work:
