So between working in a 100 degree kitchen (getting my butt handed to me on a silver platter I might add), hauling gear around and rehearsing in an un-air-conditioned house, amongst other things (between the sheets), I really neglected hydrating myself.
Just as I was hitting the sack on Friday night, I started to get really dizzy. I figured I'd sleep it off. Unfortunately I didn't get that great of sleep that night. I tossed and turned in my own perspiration, which is quite uncomfortable.
I got out of bed on Saturday morning feeling basically hungover without that pesky alcohol consumption (hadn't drank any alcohol in the previous 2 days). My head was throbbing so bad. All day I was trying to rehydrate, drinking water, Vitamin Water, and Emergen-c. I couldn't eat anything, because my tummy was all knotted up and nauseated. I was really lethargic; which kind of sucks because if you are asleep you aren't rehydrating. I don't know how many times I went back to bed or fell asleep on the couch. I couldn't even make work or rehearsal. Luckily my boss and bandmates were understanding.
I woke today feeling much, much better. Not quite 100%, but at least I get a cup of coffee this morning.
There is a moral to this, at least for me. I'll be making extra special sure to drink as much water and actually eat something substantial during these August heat waves. |

Seriously though that sounds like a b**** to deal with. Glad you got through it... luckly i know when i need to hydrate because part of my body tells me too so i never get any bad heat exastion... and whenever i'm out marching (burning hot houston sun marching for 2 and a half hours a day) i have a giant jug of water that i make sure i clean off. Stay Hydrated everyone its a real pain if you aren't!

Once you get dehydrated, it takes a lot to get back to where you need to be. |

Maki, You are probably right. A hangover is the alcohol dehydrating you and this felt quite the same. |
