Sign in to disble this ad
Anyways my friend scored me a job as a bus boy at a greek restaurant. I finally have a job so I can start saving up for a car and later a rickenbacker. Seems like a good job too, great that i'll be inside in winter and I get free food.
I talked to the boss and he said I needed to wear dress shoes, dress pants, a tie and a dress shirt,---not a problem infact its classier then wearing a Mcdonalds or A & W uniform so I like that.
BUT
He mentioned my hair, now I always though I was fairly clean cut, my hair is just above my eyes and is long-ish. This is the way I like my hair and fits my face best, plus I'm a metalhead, in a thrash metal band so I kinda want to keep it like this.
Anyways he said either to trim it or gel it
So I dunno I really rather not trim it but I have always hated gel, infact I have never used it in my life because it just puts me off.
Anybody have advice on what I should do, maybe a way to slick my hair back with something not as nasty as gel? Is there anything I can use and then later just wash it out after the shift?
oh and skipping out on the job IS NOT an option, jobs here are hard to find and I need one as soon as possible. |

Gel washes off (so I'm told, I can't say I use it myself).
It's cool he's giving you the option, really.
Enjoy your new job. Greek food is great, and if they play traditional Greek music you can learn a lot about odd meters, lots of 7's and 9's if you listen.

Either that or a buzzcut. Nothing is more metal than scalp.

| | | So I tucked my hair up under my hat and I went in to ask him why?
He said you look like a fine upstanding young man, I think you'll do.
I took off my hat and said imagine that, me work'en for you. |

Man...My hair used to be to the bottom of my ribs and at this time is still kind long down to my shoulders (I just always liked it that way...nothing to do with being a musician) I have wore my hail long to some degree all through my adult life.
Just Gel it and don't even think about it.
I gel my hair regularly.
I meet my wife who noticed me with my hair gelled back.
Your still you...

Also I know NOTHING about hair products could someone mention me a decent gel that is the least nasty and easy to wash off. |

If you want to keep your hair it's current length, then using gel at work is a small price to pay. Besides, if you go to a barber shop or salon they can sell you a gel that isn't crappy goop.
Congrats and Good Luck with your nwew job!

There is technique to this crap? | Brush it straight back when you get out of the shower?

I used to have extremely long hair, but I kept it tied back pretty much all of the time, so it was never much of an issue. |
