Got robbed last night

My truck and my dad's car got broken into. Parked in my driveway on a quiet cul-de-sac west of Cincinnati...house is back off the street and my dogs were sleeping on the front porch. I guess you're never really prepared for everything.

They stole a Bazooka EL1500 amp, a Kicker Comp 10" sub and Kicker enclosure, about $400 in CD's and two cases, and my Foster Grant sunglasses. Also broke my fuel tank switch (I have dual tanks, I'm assuming they were going for the gas?).

If anyone comes across anything like this, please let me know so I can have the police check it out. There were a dozen or more break-ins last night so you'll have helped an entire community catch a thief.

I hope whoever did this gets what he deserves from the court system. Hopefully your police and justice system are at least halfway competent.

Meanwhile, please stay away from vigilantism.

Man, that really blows man. I recently had my car stolen with a lot of gear in it. They found the car 3 days later with the gear still in it, I was supprised the bloke didn't pawn all my gear... now that I think about it, I feel insulted that such a stupid theif got one over on me.

now's the time to contact the various pawn shops. They think they're smart and will likely wait a little while before unloading them. Keep your eyes peeled in the classifieds, and the pawns. Worth a try. Good luck.

I'm watching the classifieds but pawnshops are a dying breed around here...I might make a few calls to some of the local ones but in a big city, it seems more likely my stuff will end up falling off the back of some truck

One of my 2X10 cabs was pinched, I know the feeling. I had no insurance at the time, hopefully you do. If so, just think of the new replacement!

Good luck with that, man. I had my car broken into last month, ended up recovering some of my gear at the local GC the next day and the dude who turned it in is now sitting in jail on larceny and contempt of court charges. Keep your eyes open, your stuff my show up sooner than you think.

I was talking to one of my neighbors and they let me know that a guy who lives across the street got out of jail just a few days ago - I checked out Hamilton County's court records and saw that he's been canned for burglary, theft, unauthorized use of property, drugs, and all kinds of traffic stuff. Needless to say, I have my suspicions but can't do anything about it since I don't have any evidence. It used to be such a nice, quiet neighborhood... (well, maybe not THAT quiet LOL).

It was a weird ass story man, the detective that was assigned to the case also worked at the local homeless shelter and had seen that guy come in and out in recent weeks. He said they ended up subpoenaing him and he didn't show so they arrested him. I only ever got back the two pedals from GC, but knowing that they caught the guy worked for me. Kind of sucks for him, he was already in a bad situation, but he didn't have to go and make it worse for the both of us.

pawn shop didn't help me when my house got broke into. well it was my roommates house and her stupidity. She got mixed up with some dope head friend, and had a sleep over and this chick friend of hers snuck out with the keys and copied them and then came back and "broke" in the house. Stole her vcr and a bunch of her stuff (most junk). My room they got to my jewelry box and stole my baptism necklace, and a necklace that belonged to my late great aunt. BUT they didn't get to my collection of CDs, or my leather jacket that was hanging over them, my keyboard (I didn't play bass yet) or my roommates boom box that was in my room. The light switch turned on and off opposite and they tried pulling on the string to the ceiling fan (I know b/c I had it off due to it was winter). So I lucked up there. Plus my rings was hiding in a drawer.
NOW pawn shops didn't help me b/c although I took a description and police report, I never got a call on the jewelry.
getting robbed is bad, and felt to me like invasion of my privacy. Shoot if you want something, work for it! Stealing is a wimpy way out to get things. Sorry this happened to you..hope you get your stuff back soon!

I got a Geddy Lee sig that was actually signed by the man himself stolen at a gig, so I know the feeling. Now I never leave any valuable gear out of sight.

Never leave anything of value in my car either. Calm places where everyone is fast asleep are a thief dream. My girlfriend's parent have a very remote home that they rent from time to time and it constantly gets broken into because no one is there to call the police and it doesn't have the phone.
