What is the first note that registers?
for me, it's a very flat G.
Do ya play a lot of songs in the key that shows up for you?
I have this little thought that is completely unscientific and mainly just one of those thoughts that is fun to...well, think of. In fact, I ENCOURAGE you to mock that thought and explain to me why it's just a stupid waste of time.
"We are all trapped in our own song".
And also, I either have absolutely HORRID timing or I'm on to something: I can tap my foot in a classroom before a teacher arrives, and EVERY SOUND made by the other students always falls within what I tap. Whether it be rustling papers, beginning a sentence, or walking into the classroom late.
Hell, I can do it even when the teacher is there. What's going on?

I'd just like to know what the psychological implications of it are, and if anybody has written any journals on this phenomenon. In addition to this, on a more personal note, I've been accused of creating an "obsession" with music, which is probably true. I would also like to know whether an obsession with music is healthy at my age, because it's pretty much all I do. I feel that music is so much like life itself that it isn't unhealthy, because it's exactly the same as life to me. You can spend your entire life learning one genre of music, and since there are also many elements of expression, I feel that music can be much more honest than "real" life. I'm probably throwing myself to the lions by saying something like that, but that's fine.

I work a desk job captioning phone calls for the hearing impaired, and I tend to bust out into finger-tapped drum solos on my desk for long periods of the day. I ALWAYS find random noises, movements, and all sorts of other occurrences to land in perfect timing with my tapping. Or maybe its just that we only happen to notice those that do fall in sync, and ignore all else? Who knows

My tuner breaks every time I do that.
I used to work in an engineering lab where someone would start banging on something and then everyone else would start banging on things and singing...... until the boss put a camera in the lab to watch us from his office 8(

Do you think this and your perceptions may be by any chance connected to an obsessional compulsive disorder? Or otherwise? If you don't mind me asking out of curiosity.

----and I read loads of books on the subject....but that doesn't make up for the fact that I'm young (only 20), and the fact that I mostly read books that were connected to my own experiences and limitations....and I have got to be honest here, I have not read much about that subject. I would not want to base my beliefs on the plain old stereotypes that would pop up in my head having no experience (conscious) around the disorder or regarding the disorder, so, tomorrow I will explain what lead to people telling me that I have an unhealthy obsession with music tomorrow, as I am not sober right now, and even though I've probably never met most of the people here, I want the highest level of honesty that I can bring forth to come out, and I don't feel that I'm capable of that when drunk.
