It's a totally different universe of political surrealism and satire, but Nil, a Land Beyond Belief is a great graphic novel.

At the moment I am reading Neil Gaiman's Sandman which a guy I work with lent me. It's pretty heavy going, so I want to find something which is a little easier to read.

Supposedly this has also been in the works to become a movie, though its been stuck in development hell for quite some time.

meh, after reading your first post, that was my first recommendation. if you're not easily offended, give the preacher series a whirl, it was how i got back into comics, fairly easy going compared to sandman or watchmen, but pretty darned fun, don't let the seemingly heavy religious connotations put you off...

for light reading I'd highly recommend Jeff Smith's Bone

Allen Moore's Top 10 is good fun too.

for heavy Reading, Moore's V for Vendetta or From Hell are awsome.

read the Preacher trades. Such a good series.

Walking Dead is also fantastic.

Anyone who is offended by Watchman, this takes it up about 12 levels. So bad that the movie rights get signed then the studios back away from the project for so many reasons.

+1

BONE is a lot lighter reading than most graphic novels but that doesn't mean it's for kids. It's an entertaining story with a rich plot and great characters.

And this is why it's brilliant, in my opinion. Just raw, and brutal, and extremely funny.

Believe it or not the first Marvel Thunder Bolts series was pretty good.

Earth X was good if you are familiar with the Marvel universe.

Frank Millers run on DareDevil & Batman are good.

The recent Iron Fist was really good.

I enjoyed the series Nam

I loved it as well but I can see the Christian world coming down hard on the movie.

Transmetropolitan.

I've been waiting for that to become a movie for years.

Spider Jerusalem...what a freaky cool yet total prick character, and a GREAT glimpse into a possible near future.

Creature Tech by Doug TenNapel, creator of Earthworm Jim. It's really well done.

The Scott Pilgrim series. This one is actually being turned into a movie.

I'm way into the Sandman stuff, but for something a little lighter you might try Neil Gaiman's "Stardust" graphic novel....much better than the movie. There's a series called "Fables" ( I forget the authors off hand...)that's a pretty fun read. And...ditto on the Preacher series....it's good stuff!
