Great meal on my trip to NYC this summer

Smith and Wollensky, 3rd and 49th - as always.

Crab cake to start.
Then an enormous Colorado rib steak on the bone - burnt almost black outside, red bloody raw inside. Served with creamed spinach, hash browns and onion rings.
No dessert necessary, just an Irish coffee to follow.

Absolute heaven.

My Dad had one of their filet mignons, which was a good size, but he ate the lot. Not bad for an 80 year old!

That sounds amazing...

Just that I'm a vegetarian and I don't consume alcoholic drinks

That is very much in our circle of competence. Sounds like a great meal, Bill. I've been to S&W and it's excellent.

When (not if) you come to Chicago, we're known for our steakhouses as well as the pizza, hot dogs, etc. I rarely splurge on a top-shelf steak, but I recently went all-out at maybe the best steakhouse here with my girlfriend. Crab cake (great minds ), 55-day aged bone-in ribeye and a hash with potatoes, dates and goat cheese. No room for dessert or even a drink. Incredible meal.

Greg, that sounds awesome. Good to hear from you!

And you're absolutely right about the "when". Chicago is high up on my must do list.
