Which begs the question, what other distilled spirits contain the same substance in "useful" quantities? Other whisky? only amber spirits or clear ones, too?

hmmmmmmm...

I use to hate Scotch but sitting arround the campfire last weekend on a chilly night preparring for another day of trout fishing, I got to sample some 150US a bottle scotch, I can't remember what brand, the label was hand written, but damm that stuff was smooth. You know if I sold my Metro I could drink it every night...........................

Thumbs up

Excellent!

I'll have a cask strength Macallan to celebrate!

What other types do you guys drink? I'm also very partial to Laphroiag (sp?) 10yr. and cask strength as well as Lagavulin 16 yr. Dalwhinnie 15 yr. is also quite nice.

I've been eyeballing a 20 year old Glenmorangie, but I don't want to sell my car to pay for it. Just finished some 15 y.o. Talisker (Isle of Skye) off, mmmmmmmm, but Lagavulin is what got me going.

Jim Swan, an independent consultant to the global drinks industry, said that...
So it's just as likely that Jim Swan would have said "OMG whisky is, like, really bad for you..." ???? I don't think so.

Glengoyne for me. Or Glenfiddich Solera Reserve...

In a few months Scotch will be found to be the cause of cancer so you might want to drink up while the going is good.

I like Irish Whiskey myself, but I'll admit I've never tried good Scotch. Is there a good way to try it for a weenie that can't stand the taste of straight alcohol? (Horrible horrible 21st birthday.....)
