I was reading the Pizza Hut thread and I thought about good pizza (as opposed to what Pizza Hut makes - which isn't necessarily bad, but not really that good either).
So what's your favorite pizza?
Mine is Carmine's Pizza in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY. |

But there is one place up in Wilmington called I Love New York Pizza. THAT is some bangin' pizza. Outside of that, when I think of my favorite pizza, I think of Lorenzo & Sons on South Street in Philly.

BJ's is a national chain that does a killer deep dish if you can't get to Chicago for the real deal.

| | | | In Omaha Nebraska we have Zio's Pizza that does a bang up, real deal job on the New York side of things. A state favorite is the Valentino's Pizza chain that got hippie era college kid cred back in the 70's at the original pizza joint in Lincoln before it became a regional chain. Like most chain stores, some places do it better than others. On the heavy chewy crust side of things Godfather's Pizza used to be a big deal, but the modern corporate Godfather's ain't anything close to what the original pies used to in terms of quality in my not so humble opinion. I remember when Willie Theisen had his bar next to a pizza place and the dude running the pizza place, who made one helluva Chicago style pie, hooked up with Willie to sell his pies to hungry bar patrons. Willie decided to get in the pizza biz, and that's how that chain got started. For the take home and bake side of things, I really like Papa Murphy's. |

It took the best scientists and engineers at the USDA to figure out how to load that much chemistry into every bite yet still have people willing to shove it down their throats. Don't get me wrong, I love America's farmers, but I won't eat toxic food on their behalf.
Homemade for me.
Best pizza joint I ever went to was Bruno's in South Bend. |

When you order one for pickup, they bring it out & the girl opens up the box, as if you're inspecting for approval. It's like like the Vanna White/game show girl thing, especially when the 'za is perfect. I like to slap a pile of salad & ranch dressing onto a slice, then add a second slice, upside-down for a 6" high pizza-salad sandwich. Now I'm hungry.

Geographically: it's a close match between Tokyo and NYC. I lean toward NYC because it's more traditional but Tokyo has some of the best Japanese interpretations of Pizza that would blow your mind. |

Now talking about good stuff, I like the ones baked in those old rock or brick stoves. Flavors? It's pizza, mix anything with cheese and you're good to go!

Adriaticos New York Style in Columbus, OH (right by OSU's campus). I have yet to find a pizza place as amazing as there, and when I return back home shortly, I am making a stop by to grab a pizza as large as my desk! |
