Miami Bankers Catch 1,000-Pound Shark - FoxNews.com

Pretty disgusting to me. One of the "Fat bankers" said, "Now I don't have to watch Jaws, I lived it".

Too bad you did not "live" the part of the captain.....dick.

You should totally be offended by the fact that you do not know what offended the OP.

I think I understand the gist of what he's saying, but the threat of a warning from the mods prevents me from commenting any more than this. TBOT posters can figure it out, though.

If you're a banker, you don't supposed to fish...apparently.

Ok, Ok...lol.

My issue is with some fat bankers killing a shark and then making jokes about it. Pretty much, they just did to a Shark what they have been doing to this country.

In defense of the fishing aspect, they were targeting mahi mahi. It's not uncommon to hook something you weren't fishing for.

I understand the frustration, but you're really looking for something to be mad at there.

I take it you are a vegetarian Quickie?

I might slightly understand if they did it for pure sporting purposes, but they are going to eat the meat.

I have no problem with folks eating what they catch/kill. I've hunted a time or two myself. Trophy hunters/fisherman ought to be used for bait, imo, however.

I guess it wouldn't be fair of any of us to tell you to "just let it go." Though this does feel like a bit of a stretch

It's not uncommon to cut the line and/or unhook a large rare fish when you get it up next to the boat instead of killing it either. In fact - it's very common.

I don't have any problem with fishing - I do it all the time. I don't have a problem with taking/eating fish - I do it all the time.

16' Mako sharks? Marlin? Etc. I'm going to let go.

Do you see a difference between killing and eating a cow, and killing and eating a silverback Gorilla?

While I share the same dislike for the legal criminals, I did not find this overly offensive. Not discrediting you for being upset.

Sure, we breed cows to eat them. I get it, but we don't generally eat gorillas for food, but shark is a fairly common food to eat.

Unless it was mortally wounded in the fight. The article doesn't say. I've eaten many a gut hooked trout that I would have otherwise released

...and shouldn't be.

Never mind the difference between fully adult breeding populations and culling for food.

This is a rather rare critter we're talking about here.

If folks were regularly hauling in 16' Mako's - it wouldn't bother me a bit... but this is sort of like using a rare million dollar stamp to mail a letter. Except the stamp belongs to all of us.
