Age disparities are perfectly normal when you look at the history of sex and marriage in the big sweep of things. 86 to 26 is pretty huge, to be sure, but there's nothing unnatural about it. In nature, animals don't seem to worry much if an eight-year-old male breeds with a three-year-old female or vice versa.
But, of course, as has been said already; it's important to Playboy's corporate branding that its iconic founder has a sexy blond (always blond) girlfriend or wife (or better yet, two or three of them). The company conducts a search with auditions and everything to recruit them. This has nothing to do with attraction or relationship and everything to do with the business. It doesn't matter to me whether he's 86 or 26 himself - it's the cynical corporate dimension of it that I think is disgusting. I don't know why people pretend that prostitution is illegal in this country.

Personally (since turning 36), I've lived by the motto of half my age to my own age. Looking back, though (now 47), I had no reason spending any time with an 18 year old. I mean, damn, how sick was I?
But a 26 year old when one is 86? That's just nauseating. | Ah yes, the Absolute Certainty of Youth......
If you find this "nauseating", you might want to carefully avoid thinking about your Gramma and Grandpa gettin' down and dirty, and believe me there's plenty of 60 and 70somethings out there that still do on a regular basis
People get married for all sorts of reasons. The Western concept of "Love" is actually not even a consideration in many other parts of the world, where marriage is primarily a business arrangement between families above all else. Even in the Western tradition, there's nothing that unusual about people with a significant difference in age hooking up and being happy together. Your revulsion at being 26 and banging an 18 year old is just silly IMHO. She was legal, and as long as it was a consensual relationship, that's the end of it.
The older you get the less age matters, and this ain't High School where a single year's difference between two people is a Huge Thing

Hef lives the Hollywood lifestyle, and as far as I'm concerned that's farther from my reality than Alpha Centauri is from Earth!

Perhaps she's an "old soul" or whatever, but you two happen to have a lot of common ground, similar interest, and compatible outlooks on life. For the purpose of discussion, lets also include that she's a real looker... exactly your physical type. Not only that, but she's interested in you. There is something about you she finds attractive, and so she asks you out. The only thing you take issue with is the fact that she's 29. Would you go out with her?

| | | | Most people are okay with age differences between spouses as long as they are both of age. Ten to twenty year differences aren't a huge deal. Even twenty-five to thirty isn't shocking. 50+ years is extreme.
They are both adults. The wife is a golddigger and Hefner is okay with the spouse being a golddigger/trophy wife.
The nauseating part isn't the age difference but Hefner's wrinkly bod.

You may think I'm crazy.....the whole thing would take too long to type out, so I'll just give you the quick version. About 4 years ago there was a woman who was 30 years younger than me. I was 55, she was 25 and it was pretty obvious that she was very interested in me. This was not wishful thinking on my part either because even a dunce like me could see it. All I had to do was ask her out....and maybe nothing would have developed at all...but for a few reasons I just wasn't comfortable with the idea of being with someone who was that much younger than me.
Again, that's just the quick version because I'm at work and I have to go now! |

She'll also get some predetermined stipend after the divorce/death and if he croaks, will NOT get half. His pre-nups/contracts are iron-clad.
Believe it or not in terms of celebrity status, Hugh is not that rich. Any wallstreet fat cat or A-list actor has him beat by a mile. It's not even his house! |
