ok been working hard, way behind for 3 weeks,i do autobody work at my house here and have for 25 years, yes 25 YEARS!,i've had shops in town along the way(i won't recant those storys) but i usually work till 8ish and have been known to practice till 9PM,maybe an xtra 10-15 minutes but hardly EVER past 9,i live an hour plus out of the big town south and 25 minutes out of the small town north(he!! i live OUT son! there's nothing but horse ranches around me it would take a rifle to hit the next house with any authority a shotgun won't git it,with me here distance wise?)
so tonight i decided i'd drag the bass out and practice,8:30,,raining,,wife comes out to the shop and tells me someone came to the door and complained=they live next door and their pregnant wife can't sleep',,,ok i guess i must be stupid, all the folks that live`next door to me' are like in their 70's and HEY! it's ONLY 8:30!,in 6 weeks it won't get dark until 10(ish)
i live on a road that is like`Interstate 80' i call it, people drive by at 80-100 whatever,it's the main vein, traffic moves from 4 till 4 24/7,well,all i know is when i wake up tomorrow @ 4 AM them sunsa#$%^&*()_+_)(*&^%$#@!~'s are gonna hear some B-A-S-S-B-A-B-Y-!,,i mean ifn' yer wife can't get any sleep at 8:30 then she'll be ready to rock at 4:30,,RIGHT! ,i know i will be!
yep,i'm moving!,,frickin idiots that have moved to this state i don't understand(anymore),i attempt to be a good neighbor, always have,i won't practice after 9ish and yet out where i live if i get`bashed' doing what i do when i do and WHERE i do=i'm mad ,,,,,,,,,,ok i'm done, thanks for letting me blow it off,,guess i have to buy a generator and a school bus/buy a mining claim

Without it many bad things can happen. Having a 9 and a half month old, I remember this all too well. My wife had a terrible pregnancy and was sick the whole time. Apparently you aren't far out enough since you have neighbors close by. People do have the right to peace and quiet in their home.
If you can hear it just outside that's one thing. But if someone can't sleep in their house, and you have as much area as it sounds, then you are too loud. Sorry to be a bummer... but that's my 2 cents. I think getting up at 5 am with a chain saw is just plain spiteful.

I live out in the country as well. all my neibhors are really good, mind you they all live quite a ways away.
I have had bonfire jams till 2 am in the morning and noone has said a thing.
some "city" people recently moved in down the road this winter, we'll see how they adjust.
my band used to rehearse in my basement. my one neibhour could hear us. He came over and told us how much we rocked. although he also plays drums really loud all the time as well.
