It is about time we see this fight. Two of the most dominating fighters that MMA has ever seen. Sure, they are different weight classes, but GSP is fighting at 195 these days and Silva is fighting around 205, so there is no real weight advantage. Discuss.

lowsound | It's a welterweight fight- 171 is the max you can be at the weigh-ins. They're talking about his pre-cut weight- his "walking around" weight, which has nothing to do with his official bout weight. Anderson Silva's walking around weight is over 210, so they're still in weight classes. Most fighters cut a lot of weight for their bouts. Fighters put weight back on after the weigh-ins, but he probably didn't get over 20lbs back on in one day. |

lowsound | No, they didn't.
They said that he was over 190 before he had to cut weight for the fight, but that number is essentially irrelevant.
Besides, if he was over 190 for the fight, then he literally gained 20lbs in a day, not to mention the fact that it wouldn't be a title fight anymore, which it was. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
