He gives it fifty percent of what ledger did, and I'll still be satisfied.

Ledger did an AMAZING job, but Depp always does seem to bring this element of mystery and horror to any roll he plays.

I think he would fit the roll great.

I think Depp could do a good Riddler.

Not sure about the Penguin character though....

Yeah, Hoffman isn't quite right for the Penguin IMO. I think Tom Hanks should gain 50 lbs and be the Penguin!

They should bring back Danny Devito to play the penguin.

He played that character great.

I didn't think so. They changed the character quite a bit, making him physically deformed and living underground - a stark contrast from what I remember from the comics as a kid.

I guess I'm alone in thinking Jim Carey made an awesome Riddler

The movie was pretty awful, but I don't think Depp can be goofy enough.

I haven't seen the new batman, but I'm hesitant, because I think THIS joker

is hard to top. Looks like someone chose brand X.

Ledgers joker is different. Not better, not worse, but different. What I wanted was more face time of the joker...comparing to nickolsons joker, ledgers was more cold, than charismatic.

But ledgers joker was good.

That would be interesting casting. I REALLY like what they're doing with the new Batman series. All these superhero movies have been WAY too cartoonish for me, so I like the darker turn, and if any can help to perpetuate that, good ol' Mr. Scissorhands can.

I think Depp will fit right in and do a great job with the way this Batman series is going. Ledger was great at fiting the thream also.

The other batman series was good also, IMO just a different was of doing the charters. I like the current one better.

Bowie could do a good Riddler!

It almost looks like Carey has a camel toe in that picture.

I was hoping the next one would have different villains than ones you'd expect (Riddler, Penguin). It would still be interesting to see how these characters are portrayed.

I personally don't think they will ever find "someone who could match or even top the late actor Heath Ledger's performance." He was simply amazing in that movie. But in any case, I think Depp could do a pretty awesome job.
