Or more correctly The Guess Who. You folks who live in LA, NY, Vegas, or Nashville may not think much of this. But I'm on the west side of nowhere Fort Worth, and the bar is in a shopping mall. Not exactly the venue I would expect, but apparently it was Charly's birthday party. Whomever Charley is.
I couldn't get a ticket, but since they were playing in the parking lot, that really didn't matter. They sounded great, and it was a nice surprise to end a lousy week.

I had been into The Guess Who back in the 1970's, but had forgotten about them, and didn't intend to stay for their set. But I decided to, and man was I glad I did. They were fantastic.

The amazing thing is that he wrote all of those great, timeless songs when he was 19. I heard a radio interview with him a couple of years ago where he had a piano in the studio, and did all of those songs himself. His voice was in fine form, and they sounded great. Maybe they will do the Atlantic City thing in NJ, and I can catch them there!

It's a pretty reliable venue for live bands, but bring your earplugs. IMHO the stage needs to be rotated 90 degrees in the room so that it is on the east wall rather than the south. Quote:

Sorry webtroll & commreman, looks like they are sticking to the midwest for a while.

I guess that's "progress". |

The Best of the Guess Who was either the first or second album I ever bought - the other was Who's Next.
Turns out they will be playing a casino in RI on this tour - I'll try to make it down there.
