Guitar forum as good as TalkBass?

TalkBass is a pretty awesome forum. Lots of traffic, a good system for trading and general safety.

I was wondering if there was an equivalent for guitar heads? Some of the ones I come across just don't really cut it, are low on posts, and have a bit of a spam problem.

How could there be? A guitar forum would be by definition, about guitars and therefore not in any way as cool as a forum dedicated to bass. What's wrong with you?

Nice!

Long answer: It's all about what kind of people are drawn to various instruments. Go into a GC and you'll see what I mean. Who is playing the guitars? Are they the kind of people you'd blindly send $2k to and trust that they would send you their instrument like you might do here on the TB classifieds?

Also, TB is extremely well moderated. Maybe because bass players care enough to do things right instead of just throwing something out there.

j/k!

Short answer: NO.

If you're not bothered by tube snobbery and EXTREMELY conservative tastes in gear (ie, if it wasn't designed in the 50's, it's CRAP!), the Seymour Duncan forum is pretty good. Just stay out of the Off Topic room. Things never go well there.

Seriously? A forum full of dudes that turn it up when you tell them to turn it down. That ought to be good.

These threads pop up all the time, and the answer is the same all the time. Guitar forums are populated by guitarists. Therefore, by definition, it wont be as good as TB.
