GUN-SEIZURE LAWSUIT
By PHILIP MESSING
ARMS CONFLICT: Gabriel Razzano claims Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (pictured) had cops illegally confiscate his guns a day after he visited her office.

An outspoken Long Island gun owner's home was raided by Nassau County detectives, who seized two dozen weapons he lawfully owns just one day after Rep. Carolyn McCarthy's office made a 911 call about him.

Freeport resident Gabriel Razzano claims he was targeted in the spring raid for his "unpopular" political beliefs.

He's now filed a $5 million federal lawsuit against the Nassau PD and McCarthy, charging they joined forces to strip him of his guns unconstitutionally.

The case pits Razzano against McCarthy, the most outspoken gun-control advocate in Congress. A crazed gunman murdered her husband in the infamous 1993 Long Island Rail Road Massacre.

The flap arose on March 19, when Razzano visited McCarthy's Garden City office to discuss an article about an illegal immigrant who was deported but was later nabbed in Freeport for the attempted murder of a cop.

"The office staff felt that Razzano's behavior was disruptive and threatening," said Lt. Kevin Smith, a police spokesman.

Razzano's home was raided the next morning.

For those of you who haven't seen it, here is an interesting video with Carolyn McCarthy in it.

I hope he cleans house with the lawsuit, you can have any beliefs you wish as long as you don't commit a crime or make threats concerning firearms.

Yep... I didn't know that having an opinion on something was grounds for getting your house searched and property seized...

If I remember correctly, there's another amendment to the Constitution that deals with that....or have we gotten rid of that one too?

My guess is that it will come down to something he said that she felt was "terroristic" etc etc.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I'd like to know what words were exchanged at the March 19th meeting

Wow, what a hottie!

She has no idea what she's railing about, does she? Except that her husband was killed by a MAN holding a GUN, therefore, ALL GUNS are evil, and MUST be banned. I hope the guy wins his case, because she is operating from a fundamentally flawed position, one in which she has so little information about the topic at hand that she cannot even properly identify gun parts, or even be knowledgeable of gun models.

Were I to introduce a bill ostensibly banning something, I'd damn sure know the subject inside and out.

I like how it's evident she really doesn't have much of an idea of what she is forcing on people.

I love when they do that.

Best line in the video, the very end.

"No, it's not" hahah.

Let's just hypothetically say what if he did say something terroristic... would that instantly lose him his 2nd and 4th amendment rights? He would have been arrested and charged with something pertaining to threatening someone's life right?

Yeah, you would think.
I can't possibly imagine what would have legally warranted this, yet on the other hand, I also can't imagine the Nassau PD being used as some sort of personal lackeys to this Rep.
I'm extremely curious to see how this plays out.

Do you know what a barrel shroud is? It's that little thing that goes up. No, actually, it's not.
