And unfortunately it was one of my "friends". It was in one of my drawers in a box, wrapped in a sheet. And my door is always locked when I'm not there.

What frustrates me, is that not all the money that was there was taken, only about half of it (roughly 250 was taken) and that all my other things in my room, 2 computers, 2 basses, and an amp, among other things were all untouched.

Someone deliberately went through my drawers and didn't take all the money, which makes no sense to me.

THOUGHT PROCESSES

Thievin' mind: 'If I take it all, he'll be PO'd; if I only take some, he'll think he lost it or something.'
Non-theivin' mind: 'Scumbag'.

Two things I can think of:

1) He'll assume you assumed you lost it.
2) He needed money and was too ashamed to ask for a loan, and helped himself.

Either way, it sucks.

Had something like that happen once, don't know what p***** me off more then money being taken or the fact that they had to really search through my things to find it.

I think that the OP absolutely should, but only if he is really, really, REALLY sure that this friend is indeed the guilty party. I know I would. I wouldn't come out swinging or anything, but I'd demand the truth from the person.

If there were only some place one could put their money where it's safety were guaranteed up to a certain amount... hmmm :curious:

Kidding man...that sucks, but i'd look into better places to stash your cash. We all know where to find it now anyways...

If you're sure, confront your "friend." If it only costs you $250 to lose someone like this from your life you got off cheaply. IMHO.

I think that its probably "Thieves Remorse". This is the normal thought process:

"I don't want to be a total douchebag and steal all of my friends money, I mean, we're friends... so I'll take half to feel a little better about myself."

But, I agree with everyone on the 'confront your friends' idea. Some people will actually admit to it (though most won't) so you should talk to them. I've had crap stolen from me, my house broken into, money taken, and the like by people I know or worse, family, but I always confront who I suspect or cut ties if necessary.

On a more sinister note: Blackmail rarely fails so if you've got some **** now would be the time to fling it. Grill them till they break and if they're true d-bags and you know it then even after you get your cash fling ****.

use reverse psychology on them. invite them all over and act like youre gonna just give them some money... then look all around going... 'i know i had 500 around here somewhere'

then whoever starts sweating and fidgeting... you'll know your culprit.
