Lets just say, hypothetically, that this weekend I was planning on hopping on a bus and riding to El Paso, Tx.
When I go on vacation I usually prefer to get mixed up with the locals and hang like if Im from the area, rather than go do any sort of touristy type stuff.
Well, what do I do? Know of any good bars with excellent draft beer?

It's a pretty cool tourist stop on the way out west. Seems like I heard somewhere that John Wayne had it built with his own funds. Don't know if that's true.
But I digress. Sorry. I can't remember any cool hangs in El Paso proper. Try the area close to Ft. Bliss?

One thing to see is the view towards Mexico from up high near the interstate on a clear night. Looks like one solid neverending city to the south. Kinda cool.

brad | So Juarez is just cross the border from El Paso. I was thinking about sitting up high near the interstate with some binoculars and witnessing some carnage from afar.

I was advised from some locals to not even go near the area, and some of them were Mexicans themselves. So I didn't.
