So today I found my girlfriend has been cheating on me. Between 2 months to 2-3 weeks. I really felt like that she was the one for the rest of my life... It's now over and I don't know what to do with myself. Bass, video games, internet, nothing helps. I don't feel like walking around and I don't have a car.... What you do,.or have done if you were in this situation

Keep busy, and time will heal. It stinks, but you didn't marry her and you don't have kids. Give yourself 3 months and you'll feel better.

Don't worry about these women, just get yourself in line. Order up a jam session, hang out with the bro's. It'll be okay man, don't worry.

Time will heal it. You'll realize that she wasn't the one, that she is no longer worth time or thoughts.

Road work - running or biking. Put it to work for you and get it out of your system so you can move on. Get beyond it and better than she deserves.

Yeah, that's pretty much why things went sour with my gf of 4 years, a couple years back. Same situation.

Looking back, I'm glad it didn't go right any further with her.

Nothing much helps at the time, but time and checking out other ladies (being checked out by other ladies) helps (lifting heavy things worked for me too).

Good luck bud, you'll manage

Some may say, welcome to manhood!

Buy some shoes.

Or, better yet, while I'm on my own relationship-ending shoe spree, I'll buy a sympathy pair for you. Pics tomorrow.

Sorry about your luck. I know nothing seems to help at first, but it gets better in time. You gotta force yourself to stay busy so you don't brood about it, and eventually you find that staying busy really does help.

Hey, that is really rough.

This sounds like a joke but it's not ---> practice blues music on bass. You'll be the better for it, and if you're not much of a blues player now, you will improve w/ practice.

Play your fingers off with your bass.

Hang with your dudes.

Make-do with your right hand.

Eat a lot.

DON'T hit the bottle.

Have a few parties.

Make use of the green plant. (Lettuce)

Chill out and stay away from the relationship idea for a while, get your head straight.

Sabotage her house.

Sabotage her car.

Sabotage her life.

On a serious note, you gotta realise that most things end eventually, sometimes in a disasterous way. If she's doing that to you, she's obviously not worth your time. Live and learn. Girls are complicated... the internet is where it's at.

Seriously though dude, hope you can recover from it quickly. Just don't do anything rash, take care of yourself, concentrate on the other stuff in life. You'll always have friends and family, whatever happens. And the good guys of Talkbass

Blue.

A man was fishing one day, and a frog says to him:
"Kiss me and I will turn into a beautiful princess!"
The man grabs the frog and stuffs him in his shirt pocket.
"Didn't you hear what I said??" Yells the frog.
"I sure did" says the guy;
"But......women are a dime a dozen, but how often do you see a talking frog???"

Hang in there..hope that put a smile on your face

Wow. I really appreciate all this feedback. I smiled for a moment. But its still hard to cope. We were in the process of planning a hand fastening ceremony... This girl OS unlike anyone I have ever met. It sounds cliche but despite her vicious deeds, I can honestly say I never met someone like her and so compatible on nearly all levels.

I don't believe in doing rash things, I have plenty of beer and a bottle of patron (which I bought her) and they are not being touched. Haven't smoked a single cig, and have been trying to stay busy. I have no car and no friends that I hang out with since I recently moved.

She actually lived with me for a 9 months and everything in my house reminds me of her but there is no place to go outside.. (i live in the sticks... I don't wish to aimlessly walk for I fear and an idle mind.

I always wanted to play the blues. I have known the "theory" behind it and listen to many varieties of it.. I guess this experience is what I need to really play it. It's funny cause I thought about that recently. Wanting to play it, but not really ever being hurt enough to feel... I wish it didn't have to happen this way though.

Well. This was a good momentary distraction for now. Perhaps ill continue pacing around the house a few hundred more times. Thanks everyone. I truly appreciate it.
