Who saw it?
I thought it was hilariously bad... Everyone in the theatre was laughing throughout the entire movie. |

I have consistent 1.5 out of 4 or 5 reviews for it. Said it was great acting, but a horrible movie. |

Highlight to read... In the first 30 minutes of the movie it is explained that certain plants give off toxins as a method of self defense. Flash forward to people killing themselves... "It's the government!" "It's the nuclear power plants!" "It's terrorists!" "Whaaat is ittttt?"
Turns out it is the plants... I mean... It was mentioned during the beginning of the movie...
So the next 90 minutes is them running around trying to escape the wind... (It's pretty hard to show a colorless, orderless gas cloud.)
Then the end... Oh lord the end... "Oh! It's over! The plants aren't trying to kill us anymore!" "I have found a new love in my wife... The one who I just found out was cheating on me!"
But it can't be the plants! The mass suicides only occurred in the northeast... If the plants were killing off humans... Wouldn't it be all over?
DUN! DUN! DUN! The final scene shows Paris being affected by mass suicides... so... it was the plants...
The entire movie reeked of "we're harming the Earth... We need to stop before the plants defend themselves."
There was almost a twist... But the movie made you believe it was the plants from the get-go. *END OF MOVIE SPOILER*
The best line in the movie... *Epic music drops* "CHEESE AND CRACKERS!"
Pass.
To be fair... I did like Signs but not so much The Village
This is so far below The Village that it should've just been a comedy. (I never saw Lady in the Water)
I also had high hopes for "The Happening" |

I want the second one to come out so i can go see it. The village was... I don't know... it was interesting about the whole keeping them from the outside world but was really eck...

I saw Shyamalan's movie about the stupid people in the woods who cut themselves off from the outside world and kept everyone scared with a fake monster. Dumbest, most-boring movie I ever watched.
Shymalan's movies are marketed as if the stories were actually frightening, but they are anything *but*. So, you go, thinking you are going to see a good horror film, but its just a dumb story with a lousy let-down ending. Everything he writes always turns out to be a big letdown for me. So...I will never again pay to see anything he does.

He's more suspense/mystery to me. I thought the Village was brilliant. Not deathly scary, but a great movie. |
