David Bowie's first 5 albums, Space Oddity, Man who sold the World, Hunky Dory, Ziggy Stardust & Aladdin Sane stand up to (and in most cases exceed) the similar production of ANY artist.
He was phenomenal...sure he sold his soul after the Spiders from Mars days just to make money, but hey, I forgive him....those first albums are amazing, and if you don't believe me, go listen...

+1 There are zero major artists taking the risks those greats like Bowie did back then just incredible stuff.

Heathen has really grabbed me. As with a lot of Bowie, it might grab you later. Prolific artist indeed. Reinvented himself numerous times since his folky beginnings. |

The new single is pretty nice, heavily reminiscent of his Berlin trilogy.

Ashes To Ashes, Boys Keep Swinging, Golden Years, Fashion, All The Pretty Things, Lets Dance, China Girl...it's all damn good stuff.
Personal highlight? His duet with Bing Crosby. Gives me chills every time. |

After that he lost me and never got me back. All of his 70's output is just top notch and amazingly brillant though, imo.
